This ceremonial leather drum carrying belt is inspired by 18th–19th-century military and parade equipment. 

Leather drum slings with brass mounts were used extensively by British, Ottoman, Prussian, and French military drummers through the 18th and 19th centuries. The D-hook design was preferred for its quick connection to the drum’s suspension rope and easy height adjustment.
