This 5-key Eb (Mib) clarinet draws inspiration from the craftsmanship of J.H. Ebble White, a London-based maker. An important clarinet type in military and wind-band tradition, early examples of its use appear in late 18th-century march repertoire. In orchestral writing, it gained major prominence through Hector Berlioz in Symphonie fantastique, where it is used for its sharp, incisive, and dramatic character.
