The Basler Trommel is a powerful symbol of Swiss cultural identity, with roots tracing back to the 17th century and a lasting legacy in the vibrant tradition of Basler Fasnacht. Revered for its unique rhythm and ceremonial role, this drum has long been the heartbeat of one of Europe’s most celebrated carnivals.

Today, its distinct voice continues to echo through the narrow streets of Basel each year during Fasnacht, played by generations of drummers honouring centuries-old traditions.
